Making the most of your weekend in the best neighborhood of Bellingham

Sunnyland residents, did you know that you live in the best neighborhood in Bellingham?

According to Cascadia Weekly, a Bellingham-based newspaper that polls its readers each year to find out their favorite spots within the city, Sunnyland was voted as the best neighborhood.

So whether you're wanting to go for a bite at Coconut Kenny's, or are feining for some ethnic food like India Grill, you're making the right decision no matter which you chose, because both were voted as two of the best restaurants in Sunnyland.

Afterward, if you haven't slipped into a food coma, feel free to take a stroll down James St. and do a little consignment shopping at Labels; voted as the best shop to buy used women's clothing.

Or, if you're trying to elongate a date, take your significant other to see a play at iDiOM Theater at 1318 Cornwall Avenue.

Check out the iDiOM Theater season calendar to find a play for the next upcoming weekend.

Then, if you're still aiming to score some "brownie" points, pun intended, walk a bit further until you reach 1424 Cornwall Avenue, and treat yourselves to one (or two) Pure Bliss Desserts.

You may want to check out their menu beforehand, so that you are able to make an informed decision and don't become awestruck by all the options of cakes, bars and cookies.

If you feel the date has gone especially well, reward yourself to a cold beer at Kulshan Brewing Co. on 2238 James Street.

The brewery is open until midnight Friday and Saturday.

Feel free to take a virtual tour of the the 15 barrel brewery, or go personally to enjoy the tap room.
